Northern Hospital of Surry County—Commissioning Study (new data center) and DR site (construction), Mt. Airy, North Carolina
Engaged by NHSC for total commissioning (Cx) review of new data center constructed by legacy construction firm utilized by the hospital. Full electrical, mechanical and life safety commissioning study of this new data center. In just a few short months, hospital engaged KI / KIMC to construct and project manage (GC of record) their new disaster recovery and business continuity data center, housed within new surgical operations theatre of expansion wing.
North State Communications—Data Center, High Point, North Carolina
General contractor of record, design/coordination and project management of new 1,100 sf Tier III data center housed within client's headquarters facility. Re-purposed existing area to utilize dedicated data center space incorporating in-row cooling, cold-aisle containment and fail-over uninterruptible power systems. This facility also included staging and supply areas as well as required structural remediation of the existing floor to support the increased data center loading.
Guilford County Master Plan—Preconstruction Services for Data Center / Office Renovations with Hazardous Material Abatement, Greensboro, North Carolina
Liason between County Information Technology / Facilities Group and architectural and engineering firms of record during preconstruction phase of moving a prime, County-owned data center responsible for all tax and GIS records for the citizens of Guilford County. Coordinated electrical, HVAC, precision trades, fire suppression and other subcontracted trades during the design and layout phase and performed construction as a partner in a triumvirate of construction firms, engaged by the County.
